Not sure what to say?

We only learned of John's death this week. He and I were junior leaders together in the Boy Scouts during high school. After college we lost track of each other. It is interesting that I became an ordained deacon in the Catholic Church recently for Santa Clara Parish with Father Jon as pastor. I remember well his enthusiasm for the Church and its people. I wish we could have spoken again before his untimely death. My sincere condolences to his family and parishoners.

Fr John was a inspiration to all who new him. He knew the full meaning of his ministry and radiated it through to his parish family. We will never forget him.
He is an angel in heaven looking down on us with his beautiful smile.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

We did not know Fr. John personally, but we certainly heard Mr. & Mrs. Parish speak of him with pride. We extend our sympathy to each member of the Parish family.

I remember when I first met Fr. John some 31 years ago. He was as enthused about ministry then as he was to the day he went to heaven. I will miss John. I thought he would be buried here with his dear mother and the place where he grew up. However, his love for God, Church and parishioners took precedence. God speed my friend. My prayers for you, your wonderful family and beloved parishioners.

Father John was a wonderful priest and person who could make you feel like you knew him for years. He was wonderful to me when I got sick in Church, and prayed for me at the mass. We will miss you.

Our deepest sympathy and condolances to Father John's family and cherished friends.
We were on vacation and weren't aware of his passing until this morning (Sat. July 28th).
We know he is with Jesus now.
Thanks Father John for being a great priest and wonderful inspiration to all who knew him.

I have never met such a fine, wonderful, caring, personable, friendly priest as Fr. John. Fr. John helped me through a very tough personal time and reunited me with the Church and God's unending love after several years of personal mysery.

I have been eternally grateful to Fr. John ever since. I wish I had told him this in a better manner when he was with us. Only a man like Fr. John could have helped me when I needed help the most. I will always cherish the letter he wrote to...
