Not sure what to say?

I am deeply saddened by the departing of Mr. John Parmer. He and his lvoing wife Carolyn were my sponosors to attend De La Salle High School(Class of '76). One of my colleagues and friends made me aware of Mr Parmer's passing today.
The character of a man is measured by not only the friends he has but the giving of himself. Mr & Mrs Parmer I will forever be in debt to them for opening my world and eyes to education and learning how to give. Graduating in the mid 70's it was unheard of...

On behalf of all members of the Structural Engineers Association of Illinois, I wish to offer my sincerest sympathy to the family of John Parmer. John, his father and the entire Parmer family have been instrumental in the formation and continuation of this great organization.

President, SEAOI

My sincerest condolences to Mrs. Parmer, Ray and the whole Parmer family. As I see it, that family is huge. Mr. Parmer was like a father to all of us who have worked for him at Cole-Parmer.
In the years since leaving C-P, I have fully realized how rare a man Mr. Parmer was. He is responsible for the success of many and I know that I am not alone in that thought.
John Parmer was a man with integrity, compassion and an incredible sense of the responsibility he had to his employees and...

I am a granddaughter of Dr. Jerome Parmer, brother of John Charles Parmer. I never had a chance to meet Uncle Jack as my dad told me he called him. I have learned about Uncle Jack within the past couple of days I wish that I had an opportunity to meet him, but I hope that he may rest in peace and I send my condonlences the the chicago parmers, even though I have never met most of them.

With love,
Lindsay Jean Parmer

John's sister Mary Elizabeth and I attended Rosary College together. Many times when I stayed overnight at the Parmers, John (we called him Jack then) would be great fun and would make us his specialty - scrambled eggs - for breakfast. The whole family was so wonderful and Carolyn completed the picture.
My deepest sympathy and many prayers go to Carolyn and the entire family.

My deepest condolences to Mrs. Parmer, Ray, and the rest of the Parmer family.
Mr. Parmer made Cole-Parmer a wonderful, family like place to work. I will always have fond memories of "Uncle John" and the little speech he always gave us on the evils of credit card debt, before handing out our profit sharing checks.
God speed Mr. Parmer.

Mr.Parmer was a wonderful man and a friend to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston where I work. My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
