Not sure what to say?

Remembering Coach Patterson as my mentor as well as head coach. Coach was great influence in my life. He was a solid Christian man. Thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I was shocked and deeply saddened not only of the news of Coach Patterson's illness but of his death. I spoke to Coach Patterson in early May and he sounded extremely upbeat and positive about a recovery, but that was the Coach Patterson I knew. I tried to call him a few days later but could not get him. I didn't know he had a relapse. I knew Coach since his first job in Tx. at Lubbock Roosevelt. He gave me my first varsity coaching position. I learned so much from him. It was an Honor for me...

It was a great pleasure of mine to be coached by Coach Patterson. He was not only a great coach, but a great friend. Being a good friend of his son Jeff, I was deeply hurt after finding out the news. I wish his family the best and will have them in my prayers.

It was with the deepest of sadness that we read of Coach Patterson's passing in the paper. Our sons, Travis and Austin Rogers, had the wonderful privilege of being coached by Coach Patterson at McCullough/The Woodlands High School. Our sons thought very highly of him, as did we - his honesty, integrity, values, and wonderful coaching touched their lives, therefore touching ours in a most positive way. He will always hold a special place in our lives. We send our deepest sympathy to all of his...

As a father of two sons who played football for Coach Patterson at The Woodlands High School I consider it an honor and priviledge to have known him and watched him work with young adults giving them opportunities that most would never have done, not only was he a great coach but more than that he was a most outstanding man who our family will never forget.

Coach Pat was a great man, father, husband, and especially a coach. He was one of the greatest football coaches that I ever dealt with during my high school football years at McCullough/The Woodlands High School. My prayers are with his family. God Bless.

I am sorry to hear of your loss. I've known Coach Patterson since his days in Roosevelt and Whitney, and he was a good man. The coaching profession lost a great man.

We grieve with you all, for we have lost a dear friend and part of our coaching family. We will miss John's smile, his humor, his friendship and council.
