John was my dad's cousin but he was closer to me in age, looks and interest! We shared some great times - In Scotland in our youth -In the US with my sister Margaret in 1986 in New Jersey. And for the last 7 years we have dived - as buddies - each February in the beautiful island of Bonaire in the Dutch Antilles. Katherine and I miss him so much. RIP Buddy.

I loved John like a brother. I knew him for the 9 years he was sister Oksana's companion. He was passionate and vocal about his beliefs. We talked often and shared outings in NJ when my wife, Barb, and I would visit Oksana and him. He got me hooked on scuba diving and got certified when Barb and I vacationed in Bonaire with John and Oksana 2 years ago. John became my scuba coach and mentor.
