John David Pendleton 1941-2022 Dallas- John David Pendleton, 80, passed away May 7, 2022, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center. He was born in Clover, South Carolina on September 19, 1941, to the late William Carl Pendleton and Helen Brackett Pendleton. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, John David "Sonny" Pendleton, II, and a brother, Larry Earle Pendleton. John was a member of the Upper Room Tabernacle Church. He enjoyed carp fishing, CB radios, most of all he was a great dancer and skater. He enjoyed working as a truck driver for Show Room Shoes for many years, and he had also worked at WS Tyler. John was a very loving husband to Beverly (the love of his life). He was also a loving father and brother. Left to cherish John's memories is his loving wife of 36 years, Beverly Poole Pendleton; his sons, Charlie Pendleton, Curt Moore, Phillip Reep (Mary), and Eric Reep; his siblings, Elizabeth Brandon (Harry), Linda Smith, Frankie Lyda (Robert), Jeanne Hester, Duane Pendleton (Shelia), Thomas Pendleton, and Robbie Pendleton (Jackie); 8 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 12, 2022, from 1:30 p.m. – to 2:30 p.m. at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday at Gaston Memorial Park, Garden of Time I section with Reverend Norman Greene officiating. Pallbearers will be Phillip Reep, Eric Reep, Mike McGill, Randy Falls Duane Pendleton, and Robbie Pendleton In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Upper Room Tabernacle Church, 107 North Washington Street, Gastonia, NC 28052 Condolences may be made to www.withersandwhisenantfuneral.com Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 2916 Union Road, Gastonia 704-864-5144 is serving the Family.

Dear John, I enjoyed working with you at WS Tyler. We had a real good team, didnt we? You were a dear friend to me. I will see you again one day in heaven. Im so glad i got to meet your sister Linda. My daddy loved you too. His high school friend. God bless your family and praying for God to comfort them. They will miss you dearly. I know God will have many plans for you in heaven. He Always loved going to watch Rico play softball & he always made sure she always had the Best of any softball equipment!! From the Bats, Bag , Gloves, etc. Ill stop there even though as John always said i was born with the gift to gab and said the first time he ever met me 36 years ago i never shut up for 3 solid hours and he kept waiting on me to pause or take a breath but said"You never Did!!!" I still hear him laughing as he told that story many times!!!! You will be missed see you again...
