The loss of my uncle, "Big John", the patriarch of our family, leaves a void that will never be filled. I will forever remember his smile, his wonderful sense of humor, his resonating voice, and the love he had for his family. I look forward to the day when I will hear his voice as he greets me again with "Hey, kid".

I am another person from the past; a friend of Alex's in HS. I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. Some people stand out for their genuine warmth, humor, and kindness; John is one of them. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of you and your family at this sad time.
