Not sure what to say?

Dear Pettiford Family,
I'm writing on behalf of my mom, Sally Ruland. She always thought so much of your Dad and was saddened to hear of his death, as was I. He was a remarkable and talented man. Mom always enjoyed not only working with him in FCT, but also having great conversations with him. He imparted joy and grace to everyone he touched. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you.

The Pettiford Family: I was saddened to read about the passing of your father on FaceBook. I've been gone from Fremont for more than 20 years now, but have never forgotten the FCT and teen theater years. God be with you and comfort you.

So sorry for your loss. I would see Mr. Pettiford @ Bethesda. I remember him fondly and his great compassion in helping with our high school plays. He was such a great help and a calm tempered gentleman.

Gretchen and I went to grade school together at St.Ann's. Your parents were always so kind to me. I have fond memories of those years. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Mary Jo (Meyer) Burmeister, Crossville, TN.

John was a terrific guy and a very helpful and caring friend. We worked together many years as original members of the Fremont Community Theatre starting in the late 50's through theearly 60's. He is joyfully remembered.

Gretchen. You and I went to grade school together. I hope you get this note of condolence. John and I worked together in the Community Theatre and, I believe, we were in a choir for a time. God be with you and your family.

There was no kinder man, more helpful man, and no one who loved to laugh and smile more than he. He and my dad were good friends, his wife was my school teacher in 6th grade, his dad "Pops" used to keep us amazed at his store downtown, and he and my dad loved to watch John Jr and I play baseball. My heart goes out to you Theresa and Erin and Marqaux, but I know you will soon be smiling and laughing and sharing the joys and stories of their papa and grandpa. Love you too bro!

I am sorry for your loss. I enjoyed working with John at Kmart. He was a great man.

Teresa and the Pettiford Family,
My sympathy to you and the family. I remember your father well as a kind and caring father. Keep the memories of him and the family close to your hearts and he will remain with you forever.
Fondly
