Not sure what to say?

J D made a dream come true. I had flown boom operator in the rear end of a USAF KC97 tanker for many hours. Many of my counterparts had hopped rides in fighters - it just never happened for me. I always wanted to do some of that inverted -aerobaitic stuff in a tandom seat plane. Almost did so in the Tanker but that is another story.
JD ask me to ride with him and to take a picture or two of our church's new location. We did so and then proceeded to a area that we could express J D's...

I knew J D when I worked for him and Lars Linden at Med Atlantic Airways. I was 18-19 when I washed planes, went on deceased delivery and often gave delivery quotes to funeral homes over the phone while at work. This was at the old Wimbish Airsfield (grass) on Old Battleground Ave. in Greensboro near the battleground historic site. One time Jd , Lars and I (in back seat) had droped a deceased in N Wilkesboro & upon our return it was pouring rain cats and dogs. Jd was in command as we made our...

My deepest sympathies are extended to the Phillips family.

Mr. Phillips had a way of making the "little guy" feel important. There are former Jet East Linemen all over the world flying corporate jets, airliners and freighters that have J.D. to thank for giving them their start. Thanks J.D! God Speed.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you this holiday season and always.

J.D. brought out the best in you. He was always positive and encouraging; always willing to give you an opportunity to better yourself. It was a pleasure to work with him and be a part of Jet East.

J.D. touched some many lives while seeing the good in everyone. He was great at so many things. He was a great pilot, friend, confidant, businessman, story teller, jokester and family man. I’m honored to have known and worked for him. God speed my friend.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
