John Murray Pierce, born in 1966 in New Orleans, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Amite, LA on November 2, 2019. He is preceded in death by his parents, James Murray Pierce and Dorothy Fowler Pierce. His grandparents were Basil and Myrtle ‘Snooks’ Pierce, Albert Floyd, and Alma Fowler. He leaves behind the love of his life, Anissa Pourciau; her son, Gene Pourciau; and beloved dogs Trigger, Hammer, Shooter, and Bullet. He was the youngest sibling of J. Michael Pierce (Teresa), Natchitoches, LA; Brenda Pierce Falanga (James), Metairie, LA; Patti Pierce, Kentwood, LA; and Sandy Pierce Shows (Marshall), Brandon, MS. He also left two nieces (Lisa Falanga Davis and Sarah Shows Odom) and four nephews (Joseph Babin, Jeffrey Falanga, Justin Tyler Pierce and Cameron Shows). John was employed by Smitty's Supply, Inc., for over 15 years, working in Amite, LA, Shreveport, LA, and Jasper, TX. John graduated from Jewel Sumner High School, where he was a multi-sport athlete. A member of Lewiston Baptist Church, he was a wonderful friend who loved his family and was a master at cooking crawfish for the annual Pierce crawfish boil. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed riding his Arctic Cat with his dogs, family and friends; and getting firewood, building wood racks, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He trained horses and raised many dogs that he loved. He was passionate about football, LSU and Saints! During his time with Interstate Batteries he enjoyed attending many Nascar races and was a big fan of Bobby Labonte. John will be greatly missed.
A celebration of John’s life will be held at Lewiston Baptist Church on November 12 (visitation at 9:00 AM and service at 11:00 AM). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lewiston Baptist Church, 74576 N. Lewiston Road, Kentwood, LA 70444.

Not sure what to say?

I was the General Manager at Interstate Batteries Baton Rouge while John was employed there. It goes beyond saying that John taught me more things than I could ever impart on him. I am shocked to have just learned of John's passing and am grateful that we reconnected in 2018 for some long conversations. I never viewed John as an employee, but rather as a partner and friend. We had some legendary trips to Talladega and Dallas for NASCAR races-always coming back with stories that lasted...

My name is David Gray and I worked with John @ Interstate Battiers in the early 2000s and when I left to go work at another place John followed.John was one of my best friends of not my best friend who taught me alot about the Civil War lol but also what a genuine friend should be like. I had brain tumor surgery in August of 2019 and John came to see me when I was in recovery and I can't express how much that meant to Me. John and I used to work out at 430am I'm the morning at a gym in Baton...

Oh want to give my respects to John's family and let them all know I'm praying for them,I met John in 2004 and we clicked from the start and never looked back . John was one of my best friends and he taught me quite a bit in the time we spent at interstate batteries where we both worked at the time and he invited me out to Kentwood to hid families place always testing me like family and I have to at he was like the older brother I never had and he would laugh at that because I always called...

I always liked John. He was a good friend.

I'm so sorry for your lost my heart and prayers go out to you and your family

I was saddened to her about John. He always had a infectious smile that would lift anyone . I met him at Anytime Fitness and always kept a smile while doing an intense workout. RIP John and to the family May God bless each of you.
