Not sure what to say?

John was my gym coach from 1972-1975. I was a quiet, awkward kid, and he helped me find some confidence. I remember him as one of my best teachers at Highland. God bless you John Pino.

Coach Pino was one of my dad's closest buddies at Highland High School. I remember him as a warm, enthusiastic gentleman who provided invaluable support and assistance to my family when my dad died an untimely death in 1980. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for that handsome, dark guy who planted a decorative memorial tree in our yard a few days after my dad's funeral! I'm so sorry; what a great loss to your family and to all the students who loved him.

Mr. Pino was one of my dads dearest friends. I have fond memories of him and his family. A sweet, sentimental man. My deepest sympathy.

A great man and a great coach, a truly positive influence on my life

Dear Jane & Family,
I was so shocked and saddened to read of John's passing. What a great coach, teacher and friend he was, and influenced many lives. You know he left his positive imprint since it has been 35 years since Cornell passed away and I have not seen you two since then.
My love and prayers are with all of you.

I had Coach Pino both as a gym and health teacher at Highland High. He was always so kind and encouraging. I have very nice memories of him. My condolences to his family.

I'm sorry to hear that he passed away. He was always excited and fun to be around. He was part of the great basketball coaching staff that tried to make us the best that we could be, and it made high school so fun for so many of us 1969-1971.

Coach Pino was my baseball coach from 71-73. His personality was larger than life. He was one of a kind - tough, passionate, sentimental, and he could be very funny. We knew he cared about us personally. He could get quite emotional when saying goodbye to the seniors. In addition to being a dedicated coach, he was a friend to us individually. I hope his family knows that Coach Pino improved the lives of hundreds and hundreds of young men over the years.

I am so sorry for your loss. John r garrison
