John Otto Piotter, 62, of Bingham Township, passed away on March 7, 2017 at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit.


 


John was born on December 20, 1954 in Bad Axe, Michigan to the late Harold and Jean (Logan) Piotter.  He graduated from Bad Axe High School in 1973.


 


John was a member of the Bad Axe First United Methodist Church.  He worked at Ubly Motors as a mechanic and also as a service manager.  John was an avid softball player.  He enjoyed working the fields, carpentry, collecting antique and toy tractors, participating in online auctions, working on cars and he could fix everything and anything.   His two dogs, Minnie and Lilly, will miss him dearly.


 


John is survived by his three loving brothers: Bill Piotter and his wife, Gail of Bad Axe, Ron Piotter and his wife, Susan of Ubly and Jim Piotter of Bad Axe; his nieces and nephews who loved John very much: Kathleen Yaroch and her husband, Ronald of Bad Axe, JoLynn Respondek and her husband, Ryan of Bad Axe, Erin Kenny and her husband, Mike of Ubly, Becky Mazure of Ubly, Darren Mazure of Ubly, Rachel Ivanec and her husband, Sebastien of Egham, England and Heather Kent and her husband, Michael Cuoco of Charlotte, North Carolina; his great nieces and nephews, that he loved as his own and enjoyed spending a lot of time with: Ashten, his Godson, Randen Yaroch, Ronna Yaroch, R.J. and Meredith Respondek, Cody and Tyler Kenny, Hope Snyder, Logan and Kendal Mazure, Ariane, Nicolas and Valentine Ivance and Luca and Joan Cuoco and his special friend, Annette Smith and her daughters, Taelor and Thailor.


 


Funeral service for John will be on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Bad Axe First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Philip Tousley officiating.  Burial will be at the Colfax Township Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the MacAlpine Funeral Home on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of service.


 


Memorials may be offered to Bad Axe First United Methodist Church.
