Not sure what to say?

Worked around John quite a bit and found him to be smart, reliable but most importantly a fun person. Really miss him and his humor.

Hey Monster it´s been a year, I can´t believe it. I still want to call you and ask you this or that, or compare thoughts and opinions on something that has happened. I miss you every day, love you my brotha see you on the other side.

Miss you and your laugh Milt.

God takes the good ones sooner. John was one of the best; cop, human being, friend, SF native. I'll remember his cheery laugh, and larger than life presence. Godspeed, my friend.

Julie, was very sad to hear the news about John passing. Just received a very funny and, of course, sarcastic text from John a few months ago, as I did on occasion. I knew John since the SF Airport Police then in SFPD in the 80´s. Great cop and a great guy with a big heart. I think if you look up the term "Gentle Giant" on Wikipedia, John´s picture will be there. Had a lot of fun when I helped John with his house in Miraloma Park, including neither of us knowing it had an ocean view until the...

John was not only a great cop, but one of the finest, most generous, giving human being I have ever known. Always a smile on his face John left a lasting impression on all who knew him. John personified everything our citizens deserve and expect from our police officers. He truly cared about others and it showed everyday. All of us that knew John and had the chance to tip a pint with him will never forget his kindness, loyalty, compassion, and empathy. Farewell John, we will all meet again...

I´ll always remember John for his good natured way in all he did. His smile was infectious, as was his laughter, from the first days of our Academy class together. You are missed, Aloha a hui hou! #go152nd until we meet again!

New John since the high school days. Growing up with him and seen him occasionally with his good buddy Rick. Always the greatest guy. Always very happy and laughing. Will be missed. James Hill and The Hill Family

Every time I would run into John we would look at each other and both of us would start laughing before we said a word cause we knew something funny was coming. What a guy. Miss you dude.
