Not sure what to say?

John was one of many WWII vets who became engineers and contributed their creativity and dedication to their jobs but more importantly taught and inspired younger people like me. Thank you John.

John was one of my first bosses after college, taught me all the right stuff. We became instant life long friends, our families camped together , fished Canadian waters together and stayed close all these years. Living in Arizona now, I had the opportunity to visit with John last summer as we traveled to Ashtabula. We are surely going to miss him and his great enthusiasm for life.
Our sincere sympathy to John and Rick and families.

We were next-door neighbors to John and Lu for 13 years and have missed them so much since we moved away in 2007. John was a good man, a good friend and a good neighbor. We have fond memories of our time living on the Twin Lakes, and John shared so much about the lake's history with us. Their memory lives on in our hearts and in Polder Creek!

John, I'm so glad to have met you and Lou, and your wonderful family. Now you and Ernie are most likely kibitsing in heaven. I can just hear you saying to him "WHAT THE HELL ARE DOING HERE?"
My sincere condolences to the Polder family. SUE MOLNAR-R.I.P dear John

John was EVERYONE's friend! He is undoubtedly the best boss I've had. John tought us to be serious and get the work done properly, but to have fun along the way. He always had good things to say about Lou and the boys and made us think of how great a family is, if you will just put forth the effort to make your family great. I think of him, not infrequently, and remember the good times working for, and with John (he helped everyone all the time). For sure he's happy with Lou now...

I knew John from a number of Gould former employee get togethers. He was pleasant and humorous. What a full life I see as I read his obituary. My sincere sympathy to his family. -Greg
