Still very missed and loved by his family

Dear Donna & Steve, You have been in my thoughts. Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of your father.

There seems to be a mistake papa they think you are a doctor, I miss you so much and wish you were here to see Aubree shes so pretty just like Aniya, she would have loved you too. I hope you are watching over us. Until I see you again I love you and miss you.

My condolences to Dr. Porter's family. He was called Wilson Porter at Central High School. He was two years ahead of me in school, but he was outstanding back then. Since I am the Chairperson of the Central High School Alumni Assn. Alumni Award program, I became acquainted through mail with Dr. Porter. A fine man. Geri Stronczek, CHS, 1951

I first met John Porter in the late 1960's when he was at the MI State Department of Education and I was at Columbia University. We were friends and colleagues ever since. After "retiring" from EMU, he served as Vice President of the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, of which I was the president, and later, after his successful two-year stint at General Superintendent of the Detroit Public Schools, he re-joined the NBPTS team as my "senior advisor". And what fantastic...

I knew Dr. Porter as a Director of Comerica Inc., and as a Board member of Comerica Bank in Ann Arbor. He was a man of great integrity and humility, and his insights were invaluable. John was also a good friend and I enjoyed being in his company. My condolences to his family.

Dr Porter was a great neighbor when we lived at Oak Meadows in Ann Arbor. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family for your loss.

My condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Porter. I had the pleasure of taking care of Dr. Porter during his stay at Heartland. I loved his sense of humor and admired his passion for life and education. Dr. Porter was on a path of greatness, and I am so thankful that our paths crossed one another. He will be missed.

ON THE BEHALF OF THE WILSON FAMILY OUR PRAYERS ARE WITH YOU ALL. GOD ALWAYS KNOWS WHAT IS BEST & GOD CALLED HIS SON HOME TO GIVE HIM HIS REST.DR.PORTER WAS A OUTSTANDING, COMPASSIONATE, WISE AND LOVING PERSON..
