Not sure what to say?

To the family of John Porter, he was an immensely amazingly brilliant man and I was afforded the honor of meeting him in Providence, RI. I just heard of his terrible passing and extend my sincerest condolensces.. He was a very nice man.

I worked with John at Touche Ross as he began his accounting career. I will always marvel at your energy, enthusiasm, and intelligence. You will be forever missed as a friend.

I worked for him at AAA Corvallis and I am so saddened at the news of his passing. RIP.

I have known John professionally and personally for well over 20 years. I had the pleasure of spending time with John and his wife at an OSU football game last fall. He was so excited about his future position in New England, but also saddened that he would be leaving all his close friends here in Oregon. John you will be missed.

The Lord has more glory in store for you in His presence. Peace my friend

I didn't know this man, but I benefited from his work as a member of AAA Idaho. I was moved when I saw a picture and statement honoring him at the AAA Idaho office today in Boise. I came and read his obituary and glad to see he knew Jesus and I'll get to meet him someday in heaven. My prayers are with the family he left behind, remember God's word that says, 'Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.'

John is an outstanding example of a leader, community supporter, and friend. He and I where part of the '83 OSU class (both accounting majors). I have always admired John's warm and compassionate personality. John shall forever live in my heart and mind.

Prayers to the family

John was an outstanding man with whom I had the honor of studying as a fellow-student in the Doctor of Business Administration program at George Fox University. He and I were partners for a Management course assignment in my first DBA class. In that first contact and throughout our studies, he showed such integrity, intelligence, and professional acumen. It was a pleasure to join him as one of the GFU doctoral graduates in December, 2013 - such a happy day. I am so grateful he could...
