I attended Agawam High in the early 70's. Mr. Porter was one of the most liked and respected members of the staff. He helped me through a stressful situation with a difficult teacher. I very much appreciated his assistance and credit him with the positive outcome.

I was in the Business Department and worked not only with his wife but with John at Agawam High School. I have wonderful memories of both and I owe my driving skills to John. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Mr Porter was extremely helpful to me during my years as a student at Agawam High School. He was particularly patient and informative when it was time for me to plan for college.

I never once sensed that this kind, intelligent, hard-working and decent man wanted to be doing any other job. He was such an outstanding guidance counselor that I forgot he had once been a teacher.

Condolences to the Porter family on their loss. John was a colleague at AHS where he was known for his kindness to students and friendliness to his co-workers. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of John's passing. I worked with him for many years at Agawam High School. He was a good man, a good friend, and an excellent guidance counselor. My condolences to his family.
