Not sure what to say?

I knew John while we worked at McGraw-Hill. He was an editor on Electronics, I was Associate Art Director on a magazine down the hall. Richard was a colleague of John´s. Richard and I were married 35 years. He passed away in 2018. We had so much fun, all of us, in our 20´s, having fun in Manhattan.

Further to my earlier post, I now found a photo of John who came to my class to talk about Intellectual Property. I am holding a bush protection cover he invented and got patent and copyright and probably trademark, I have forgotten. It was in the 90s.

I began knowing John when I started my company and applied for patents. He was brilliant and generous. He had lots of great insight on how the patent process work and provided great service to me, resulting in many successful applications. He gave generous advices to me when I did patent applications on my own later, being a financially constrained start-up. He shared many thoughts with me about life and career, for which I am really grateful. Because of the slow mail forwarding process...

My husband, Richard Comerford was also an EE and became good friends with John at Electronics magazine. I was an associate Art director on the magazine next to Electronics. We had so much fun! John was always upbeat and great to be around. Richard passed away 6 years ago, he and John have some catching up to do.

Great friend, superb attorney and patent illustrator. Extremely good at cutting through the BS, delivering a succinct action plan, all the while regaling me with endless humorous stories. I am forever grateful. Job well done, John.

I just found out about Johns passing and A. Krass. I was a client and have some much respect for the them. John was my friend and fought so hard with the patent office for me and won. I have so much to say and plan on attending the celebrating of his life. I hope to met his son and wife and family . My deepest sympathy for your loss. Anthony Palett

I mis his smarts and his sense of humor. We worked together at Electronics. He´s really an unforgettable person.

Extreme sadness for John´s passing. I met John around 1995 in Ann Arbor. My company needed an I.P. attorney to work on our trademarks. From our first meeting, I knew he was completely authentic and quite exceptional. John was very confident with a casual and friendly approach. I soon learned this was because he could (and did) achieve anything he wanted to in many varied subjects and fields. After some years of working together (on and off) on the trademarks, I got to know John more...

I am very sorry to learn of John's passing. I met John in the late 90s as I was transitioning to a second career as a patent law attorney in my fifties. He taught me how to write patent claims (although he forgot about it later) and even came and gave a presentation in an intellectual property class i had started is the College of Engineering at U of M. It was a fun presentation and I still remember it.
