Not sure what to say?

Hey Bobby We miss you.. Remembering when Jean and You joined Bill and me on the boat at West Branch. A day we will treasure the rest of our lives. Love Bill and Luanne 7 years have passed since Feb 23 2013 and we miss you.

Jean & Family, my wife & I knew John & counseled with him while serving in the Air Force at Blytheville AFB, Arkansas. I have just learned thru a mutual friend of Johns passing. Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. I know life without John will be a huge adjustment. I can hear John saying to us all "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord". We all can rest secure in the fact that he is with the Lord now & will be thru out eternity. God richly bless you &...

I remember being so intimidated of "Mr.Poston" when I was younger- with his military stance and confidence. The older I grew, the more I realized what a rock solid man of God was behind that outer shell. Chaplain Poston had a great sense of humor and a great laugh. He lived an incredible life of discipline and passion and I will always remember his example of a true soldier in the King's Army. Jean, Abe and Grace, I pray that the Holy Spirit continues to comfort and heal your hearts as you...

I met Chaplain Poston at Wealthy Park Baptist Church and got to know him better while volunteering at GRHV. Reverend John Hibma was the chaplain at the "vets home" for many years. One time Reverend Hibma told me, "I picked Poston to replace me as the Chaplain because he was an evangelist." Chaplain Poston was a man of prayer. He would ALWAYS suggest that we pray together when I visited him in his office. I would also run into him at the downtown YMCA. "Did you get ordained yet?" is what he...

May you rest in peace my dear high school friend. Forever in my heart you will remain. My deepest sympathy to John's family at this time of your loss.

Aunt El and the rest of John's family - you are in our hearts and prayers during this difficult time. xoxoxoxo

I was shocked to hear of John's home going through a mutual friend (Mrs. Marilyn Van Liew). I believe his silence regarding his cancer confirmed his confidence in Gods sovereignty – there was no grey area for John! Chaplin, Colonel Poston swore me in as a Lieutenant, Chaplain Candidate almost 20 years ago at Eastmont Baptist Church and preached salvation during that commissioning service. I will remember John as a great encourager who never mixed words. We will continue to pray for you Jean...

Like you said: Family everything John!

I had known John since he was 16 years old. We grew up together in North Royalton Ohio and became fast friends all through high school. A brilliant student and good athlete. We had done much mischief! I went into the Air Force in 1971 and John came over to the house before I left for boot camp and sat me down and told me he was SAVED. We shook hands and I never saw him again... but would think of him over the years as we shared lots of experiences together. An impressive individual who made...

To the family of John Poston:

My heartfelt thoughts and prayers have been with you this past week. John was a great encouragement to my father, Harvey Alley, over the years they were neighbors. I will always remember the day Dad played his harmonica for John at Trillium Woods, and we realized the connection our families had during our time of sadness. As you grieve, be assured of our prayers for God's comfort and peace. Blessings, Laura (Alley) Hoekstra-Bettig
