John C. Probert Jr.

I was a childhood friend of Johns and spent a lot of time with him and his parents. His father would come over to our apartment to sing and my father would play the piano a compliment. John was very bright and could strip down an automobile engine and replace the parts at the age of 10 or 11 yrs old. No kidding. I was a year older than John and moved to Kingston pa when I was 12, we lived in an apartment above the dotter bus barn, I also remember john's father making their own lye soap and...

My experiences with John found him as a great mentor during my short tenure with the Trinity Lutheran Church prior to my leaving the area. He was one of the most dedicated individuals to his causes I have ever met. I remain close to the Probert family through my lifetime friendship with his brother, Carl. we will miss John.

John was an all around great guy and loved to share his vast knowledge of many topics with friends. Although I haven't seen John in many years, his mastery of Oyster Stew, which he made for his lodge, was enjoyed by all at the gatherings honoring the Past Masters of the lodge annually. My deepest condolences to the family and friends who will miss him dearly. God Speed my Brother.
