Not sure what to say?

I met John when I was an asst.to the asst coach of coach Cotton Rogers at Butler HS and he was a new sports writer at the Huntsville News and I was new teacher. We shared coach Cotton Rogers and Charlie Cox stories for 30 years until I moved. He is one of the best ambassadors and citizens Huntsville has ever had.

My condolences to John´s family. We never met in person but he guided me during my plight with a similar illness years ago. He will surely be remembered!

I had the pleasure of serving with John in the USAR for many years. As a sports editor for the Huntsville Times, he was a valuable asset to the greater Huntsville area community. Our sympathy to his family. May he rest in peace. Paul & Claudette Michael

I was fortunate to count John as friend. I met JOHN initially through the Huntsville quarterback club and enjoy my time sitting with him and Al Burleson many times. I always found JOHN to be fair and objective. John will be missed not only as a sports journalist but as a journalist interested in the area, I will miss his antidotes and good humor.
