Not sure what to say?

I was searching for a doctor for another issue and noticed Dr. Pumphrey's name. I remeber my mother speaking very well of the doctor who delivered me in 1952. I could see from his age, that this Dr. Pumphrey was not the person who delivered me. It appears that many of his relatives entered the medical field. He must have been a great doctor to inspire others to follow in his and his grandfather's footsteps. The medical establish has lost a great mentor. I also remember his father...

I received your letter Ginnie and am so very sorry for your loss. You were very fortunate to have such a long, loving marriage and I think of you often as far back as when we were roommates at Cornell. I will be writing soon. Again my love and condolences

My wife and I remember well our too-long-ago visits to the Pumphrey home. John was a lovely fellow and a gracious host. I so regret the suffering that his illness brought him but I am comforted to learn how well he bore with it. For us his memory will be "for a blessing" and only hope that John's family and friends will share that blessing, admixed with as little pain as possible.

Ginnie, so very sorry to hear of your great loss. Thinking of you, Sally Stephens Logan ([email protected])

Stumbled onto this :-(
wonderful family to work for!

My prayers go out to the Pumphrey family. It was an honor to know Dr. Pumphrey.

So sorry to hear of Dr Pumphrey's passing. John & Ginnie were like a surrogate family to many of us who were friends with Alice, Drew & Sarah back in the Trinity Valley School days. Always warm and welcoming. I joined the family for many meals due to their inclusive graciousness. I also have fond memories of many Christmas Eve gatherings in their home. I do remember the time that Dr Pumphrey asked me why on earth I would want to be a dentist and have to put my hands in people's mouths. Even...

Very sorry to hear of your loss. I feel very honored to have known such a great man.

I had the privelege to work for Dr. Pumphrey when I was a young, single girl. It was the very best job I ever had, and he gave me great advice on "boyfriend issues." My heart is hurting for all of his family and friends. He was truly a great man, employer, and doctor. I will forever cherish the time I worked for him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this difficult time.
