Not sure what to say?

Ellen, David, and Peter, I just learned of your dad's passing and wish to express my sympathies and prayers. I have the fondest memories of growing up as a neighbor with your wonderful family. Your dad was helpful in counseling me on some personal matters and a career path. His encouraging, supportive, and joyful advice was so important. And the warmth and kindness expressed to me and my family by your dad, mom, Brian, and you three will always be cherished. May the Lord grant you and your...

I had the privilege of working with Jack at La Salle School in the 1980's. What a consummate professional and advocate for the kids there. My sincere condolences to the family.

My grandmother and grandfather lived across the street in Watervliet from the Purcell's and later in my life I worked with Dr Purcell at LaSalle School where he was a Psychologist helping young men through some difficult times in their life. I can still hear his gentle voice and his great laugh. My deepest sympathy to the Purcell family. He was truly a wonderful man.

My condolences Petey may he rest in peace

our prayers and thoughts go out to everyone in the Purcell family

Peter, I am so sorry to learn of your father's passing. He was such a joy to be around and as the fitting tribute penned here portrays him, always seemingly upbeat and energetic. I know he was one of Watervliet's finest exports. Thanks for the honor of introducing me to him. Best to you, David and the rest of your family. I hope you can find peace in knowing most never live one-eight of the life he did. The tribute here is very impressive!

I am sorry I can't make it up as I am working...

He was always extremely gracious to our side of the family. A wonderful man. It's very safe to say, that he had a wonderful life, and Ellen, David, and Peter are a testament to that fact. I am not sure who to quote for this admonishment to mankind: "Leave something good behind". Uncle Jack accomplished that during his entire life. His...

I grew up across the street from Jack on 7th Ave. in Watervliet. I think of Jack and his wonderful parents when visiting that great neighborhood. He was a great example for the younger boys and we all admired him. My deepest sympathy to his family.
