John N. Pysher, 93, of East Bangor, PA passed away Saturday, July 15th, at his residence. 


John was born in Meyers Crossing, PA on March 7, 1930, a son of the late Marshall and Reba (McGinnis) Pysher.


He was the widower of Joyce Mary (Farleigh) Pysher who passed away in 2017. 


John was a 1948 graduate of Bangor High School.  He was employed as a Distribution Manager at Pysher Trucking in East Bangor, PA, until retiring in 1997.  Prior to that, John was a former buyer and distribution manager for various companies in the Lehigh Valley and Slate Belt areas.  John proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the 82 Airborne. 


He was a member of East Bangor United Methodist Church in East Bangor, PA. where he was a Sunday School Teacher and Superintendent  


He was a former Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop 102 in Bangor, served on East Bangor Borough Council, and the Bangor Area School Board, and was a founding member of the Slate Belt Republican Association.  John was an avid fly fisherman and was a Charter Member of the Dream Mile Trout Fishing Club.  


John is survived by a daughter, Stacy Pysher, of Bethlehem Twp., a son, Marshall Pysher, of Bath, a sister, Susan Pysher, of Washington, N.C., a brother, Gerry Pysher, of Bangor, three grandchildren; Carley, Casey and Jordan, and three great-grandchildren Cameron, Autumn, and Briar.  He was preceded in death by two sisters; Betty Smith and Jean Devine, and a brother Ray Pysher.


Funeral services will be held at 10 AM on Friday, July 21st at Gaffney Parsons Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 4 Lillian Lane, "Village of Johnsonville", Bangor, PA, with Rev. David Goss officiating.  Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 6 - 8 PM on Thursday, July 20th at the funeral home.  Burial will be held at East Bangor Cemetery, East Bangor, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to East Bangor United Methodist Church, 136 W. Central Ave., East Bangor, PA 18013, or to The Center for Animal Health and Welfare, 1165 Island Park Rd, Easton, PA 1804, or to the charity of one's choice.
