Not sure what to say?

Also, I have a trove of his letters. Several from his trips abroad, back in the day when friend´s corresponded by letters. One day at Vanderbilt he shows me Willam F. Buckley, Jr.´s first book, God amd Man at Yale. Clay read a book a week. His insights in life were very memorable. I still think about him quite a lot and deeply regret that we lost touch in the final months. If any family members want his letters, please contact me at [email protected] or 843-725-9847 Charles...

Clay read almost a book a week. He was a true Southern gentleman. His conversation was witty and sometimes self-deprecating. We last met at Galatoires one evening. He loved New Orleans and, of course, the South. We stayed in touch from 1978 at Vanderbilt to 2022. Then my emails went unanswered. I admired him greatly and am proud to have been his friend. I searched his name tonight and it breaks my heart that he is gone.

Clay was suck a joy to know and see about town in New Orleans. My heart hurts not knowing of his passing until last night in church when I saw the Christmas Eve flowers donated in his memory. You will be missed buddy. Thanks for always making Joe and me feel welcome. Big hugs.

Thank you Clay. I really appreciate the opportunities you gave me

Clay is the best program director and the best mentor of life. He encouraged me when I was down and told me not to doubt myself. He shaped my life, my career, my personality in positive ways. He influenced many other students in the same way. We all love him and will always remeber him.

A huge loss for NOLA and beyond. Clay was an amazing guy and will be sorely missed. Sending love and light to his family and loved ones. I will make efforts to attend the celebration of life in NOLA.

randolph family, i am so sorry, i loved clay. he was a great friend. you have my deepest condolences. paul j. ippolito

My sympathies to all of those whose life he touched. Very appreciative to him for his support of Tulane Baseball. My heartfelt condolences, Jay

Randolph was a rarity...high IQ but with common sense and a great sense of humor. My privilege to have been his friend and brother in SAE. He will be missed but never forgotten.
