Not sure what to say?

Mr. Rants was my music teacher at Tyee from 1979-81. He was such a great teacher and instilled such a love of music in his students. I have a love of vocal jazz because of him. My time in Sound Design was the best time in high school. He is greatly missed.

I was privileged to be in the first band class that Mr. Rants taught at Chinook Jr. High. I played clarinet then and continue to play clarinet in the Lewis-Clark Community Band. I have also played for at least a dozen Civic Theatre productions here. He gave me a love of music and the desire to improve. I also now play the Celtic Harp and flute. Music has always, and will continue to be, a big part of my life. And this is due to his fine teaching. Thank you!

I am very grateful to Wally for what he did when he started the Highline Community Band.
I played under his direction from the early days at Tyee High School, and am still playing the tuba in the Highline Community Band, some 30 years later This
opportunity to continue
with music as an amateur
has enriched my life and that of my family over all these years.
