Not sure what to say?

I worked with John at the Ocala PD from 1966 until 1974 when he went to the Marion County Sheriffs Office. We golfed, played tennis, and generally had a good time together. He was a typical Iowa midwesterner which in my mind is a good thing. I have to add that John was the neatest, most fastidious person I have ever known. He was always well groomed with a knife edge crease in his pants. He will be greatly missed by us all.

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing, he will truly be missed. I was a prosecutor in 1973 and got to know John quite well over the years as his law enforcement career and my legal career went forward. He was a fine law enforcement officer and an an even finer PERSON, and my heartfelt condolences go out to his family.

John and my father, Henry, patrolled together during the late sixties and/or early seventies. During that time John served as my Godfather at my baptism (January 31st, 1971) at St. John Lutheran Church in Ocala. Later, his daughter Marcy and I would celebrate our Confirmation together (May 27, 1984), also at St. John. My prayers are with the family.

John growing up i knew you as a partner and freind of my father for the Ocala Police Department.Family ties are always remembered in our time of life of those who made freinds special like you.My prayers are with your family and you hold a special memory i will never forget.

I first met John in 1983, I was a rookie deputy and as a more experienced officer he was one of the ones who took care of us and taught us how to do our jobs. John always had a smile on his face and laughed alot. He offered support and encouragement throughout my career and was always there to help. My children knew John when he was a School Resource Officer and they always said he was good to all of the kids. After I had my heart attack he called me when it seemed I'd been deserted and was...

I remember John when I was a kid working with my father at the Ocala Police Dept he was a good man God Bless him and his family.

My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort. John will be missed by all that knew him and his smile and laughter will live on in our hearts forever.

My wife Jackie and I met John about seven years ago when we began spending the winter in Florida. His RV was across from us at Ocala North RV Park. He was a tremendous neighbor and became a good friend. We could always count on John to "keep an eye on our rig" when we were not there. Two days before he became ill I had forgotten to hook the doors open. We were not there when the wind blew them shut. He proceeded to latch them open on a very warm day for the benefit of "Smoky" our cat. We...
