Not sure what to say?

I will always remember John for his enthusiasm and zeal for the game of soccer and his desire to learn so he may instill that into his soccer players that he coached. I am sorry I was not able to attend the services. My heart was with you and your family. John will be truely missed. My prayers are with you all.

Lynn,
You and your children are in my thoughts as I go about my daily activities. I will always remember climbing that mountain in Tennessee with you and John, the birth of Marshall and the amazing love for you that I always saw in John's eyes. My daughter Lauren told me of his death only this morning. I am overwelmed with sorrow. Our long walks together were always so healing; I only hope that you will find comfort in time.
Bev.

Lynn, I am so sorry I could not come to Birmingham, but I want you to know that we have been praying for you, John and the kids as you have been dealing with John's illness. This is perhaps the most difficult moment you will ever have to experience and I pray God's comfort and encouragement on you and your family. It has been so long since I have seen you -- our kids are all grown up and things are so different. I pray God will give you only good memories and His strength. Our sincerest...

John was such a joy to be around. He made me welcome at Mayer Electric. May God heal your hurt.

Dearest Lynn, Marshall, Caleigh, and Ian,
You probably never realized how much your husband/father meant to so many people. John touched the lives of those he knew in deep and lasting ways. His keen sense of adventure coupled with his ability to laugh and have fun made him a pleasure to be around. Those who knew him, loved him especially his extended family. He was a modern day Renaissance man who'll be terribly missed. I know that Uncle John will be with us and in our hearts forever....

i will always remember john's smile and warmth. lynn, you wrote a beautiful tribute to john ..and how lucky we all were to have known him. i send you and the kids lots of love and hugs.....

I'll always remember John as being "mad" about football (or Soccer as known here in the US).
As a fellow limey from Birmingham England, who relocated to Birmingham Alabama in the early 70's, I met John on the Soccer field and although I was never one able to play up to his standards, we always had great fun.
Lauren, Ian and I will miss John greatly, even though we only communicated sporadically over the most recent years, I still feel a strong bond with John and Lynn and the...

This was a moving and sincere obituary. You expressed his passions so well within a limited space.
We love you,
