It was as if he came to life right out of a Norman Rockwell painting. John was always a big ray of sunshine coming up our walk. Working from home, I saw him nearly every day, and it was always a bright spot for me and our Doberman, Duke, who adored him.
John was "old school," in that he delivered service with a smile, and gave the people along his route a whole lot more than just the mail. We are proud and fortunate to have known him, and only wish it could've been for a whole lot...

John was the greatest mailman anyone could ask for. He watched my daughters grow up and just 4 days before his passing he got to meet my new granddaughter. Even though I hadn't had the chance to tell him about her, as he said, "You know I've been your mailman for years now... I know everything that's going on with your family."

He was such a compassionate man, especially when it came to all the puppies on the block. He never failed to have his assortment of Milk Bones in his...

We will miss John's smiling face when he delivered our mail. He was more than our mailman. He watched our daughter and the neighborhood children grow up and go off to college, and always asked how they were doing. John always went that extra step to make things easier for everyone.

We never saw him without a smile on his face and that's how we will remember John.
