Not sure what to say?

I was on the last team in midland under coach john Reddell. When he broke the news that he was leaving there was not a dry eye in the in the room. We loved the guy. A man of grace beyond the game itself.

Dear Mrs. Reddell,

I'm sorry to hear about Coach Reddell's passing.

I remember him coming down the hallway of the administration building at Trinity sometimes after school to see if you were ready to go.....you would ask me if there was a big bear coming down the hall, and he would grin and let out a growl.

It made me laugh.

He would always stop and put his arm around me and give me a hug! Ask me how I was doing. He was so sweet. I will miss...

My heartfelt condolences to all of the Reddell family. I had the honor and privilege to play for Coach Reddell on the '79 quarter finalist team, and the '80 district champions team. Over twenty years later, I still reflect on the memories and lessons learned, as I help coach a six man football team at a small Christian school here in Rockwall. I attended the funeral last week, and it was so comforting to know that Coach Reddell was a saved man, and as someone stated, "...he is now coaching...

Dear Mrs. Reddell and the Reddell Family:

I had the pleasure of seeing Coach Reddell's true integrity, kindness and good character while attending Trinity High School 1979-82. I was in the drill team, a gymnast and a cheerleader my senior year. In fact, my fondest memory of THS was performing at Texas Stadium during the playoffs. It made you so proud to have Coach Reddell as our leader. He was certainly a great coach, however, even more importantly, he set a great example for...

I have great admiration and respect for Coach Reddell. 20 years later I still reflect on the life’s lessons he taught us. The appreciation of playing football for him (‘80-‘81) has grown over the years. He taught us to be winners and accept nothing less. Confidence, self-esteem, the power of positive thinking; traits any player that played for Trinity under Coach Reddell can say he influenced.

The Reddell’s were also our neighbors on Devonshire in Bedford. Coach, you will be...
