Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to hear of Dr. Rehder's sudden death, and extend to all of his family our sincere condolences. He was obviously a much-beloved husband, father, grandfather, and teacher. I had to take a 'cultural' Geography class over summer school in the mid-90's. I wasn't looking forward to the format necessarily, but Dr. Rehder brought his Appalachian world to life. His passion for his subject was contagious, and the architectural overview of Appalachian buildings, a gift.

Dr. Rehder showed a lot of patience and interest in me, a mediocre student. He seemed to love life and positively impacted a lot of people. I'll always have happy memories of him.

We were saddened to hear of Dr. Rehder's sudden death, and extend to all of his family our sincere condolences. He was obviously a much-beloved husband, father, grandfather, and teacher, and we know that you will feel his loss most keenly.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

Judy, Karen and Ken,
We were stunned to read of John's passing. I loved talking with him during our days at WHBC. He always had just the right words to say in deacons' meetings and every other setting. Please know of our thoughts and prayers today. Marvin and Penny Cameron (Kingsport, TN)
