Not sure what to say?

My cousin April Ellen just sent me this sad news. I was 5 years younger than Jimmy and would only visit his family and our Grandma Fandell every few months of the year. What i remember vividly is the three brothers constantly playing basketball behind their house. They all seemed so tall to me! My dad went to many of their games at St. Rita and even traveled to Louisville to watch them there. He was so proud of Jimmy´s records and accomplishments.

Diane, its Judd Rothman. Oh my, I had no idea that John had passed away until Erik sent me the link to this page. He was such a great guy. The times he & I spent playing basketball at UofL (and cleaning the glass at the administration building during the summer of 64. True story) were some of the best times. I dont discount the fun we all had together either. But the times we spent playing for UofL were some of the best times ever!
I wish we had stayed in touch more as we aged. ...

Coach Reuther. He was my PE teacher at Waggener. He was always no nonsense but fair. Back then I never knew he was a U of L Cardinal.

I had "Coach" Reuther as my PE and Health teacher in 1973-74. As one of the shortest guys in my class, he was literally a giant to me. Very fair, very mild mannered. I never realized until later years that I was in the presence of U of L basketball greatness. RIP Coach.

Mr.Reuther was an awesome teacher and touched so many lives. I had him as a teacher all four years at Waggener high school. Thanks for the knowledge sir. You will be missed by all.

Diana,
Please accept my sincere sympathy in your loss. John was always a friend, coach, and supporter of his fellow faculty members. I was lucky to teach with John at both Thomas Jefferson and Waggener. I will always remember John getting out of the VW and his big convertible.
He and his humor will be missed.

Was so sorry to learn of John's passing. I certainly enjoyed my years of teaching with him at both TJ and Waggener. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Diane, I am sorry to hear of John's passing. He was always fun to play golf with and listen to his stories as an educator. I will keep you in my prayers during this difficult time.
