Over the years, his name has made it into several of my history projects, including an interview in 5th grade. His cat, Smokey, lives with me now, and I can never forget how happy my Uncle was when I got him that cat. My family (including Smokey) really misses him.

Over the years, Mr. Ridley and I often ran across each other as I walked my dogs on North Amanda Circle. He would share news of the neighborhood and recount recent events. He and the dogs were always happy to see each other. I will miss those walks and conversations.

My condolences to the family. I will miss Mr. John. The tomatoes, the roses, someone to tell me remedies the next time I stick a nail my foot, or a bee sting or whatever I need to curve that doctors bill, our jokes how the the weather made us mad. Mr. John was all that to me and more
