I do not know "why" Dr. Rikker's name popped up in my memory today (10/26/2024), but remembrance of his kindness and jovial personality came to mind; I worked with him at Sutter Memorial and then Sutter Center for Psychiatry decades ago. I recall how humane and caring he was to both our patients and our staff. It is a good memory of how a good person can be remembered and honored for their humanity and contribution to others. Yes, you made a difference John Rikkers. RIP

John and I began our mental health careers at Sutter 6E and then at the Child Guidance Center. He was a kind, wise man who I know helped many. Sorry I won't have the opportunity to share memories during some chance meeting. He will be missed by many.

Dr. Rikkers was the kindest person. He was a gifted psychiatrist and a wonderful friend. I worked with him at TYSB for many years and he was a true gift to us !
