Bill was a good friend and colleague during our years of service in the SC House of Representatives. He was an advocate for higher education and cared deeply for his constituents. I will always remember the beautiful flowers he shared with us and his love for gardening. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I’m grateful to have known Mr. Riser through my friendship with his son, John. Their relationship was one to envy. John shared how Clemson football games and road trips were the early foundation of a life-long bond, but only a small part of what made Mr. Riser such a wonderful father. And I enjoyed being gently needled by him for my liberal upbringing. May he enjoy only post-game steaks evermore.
