Dearest Margaret and Lisa,
I just wish to express my deepest and sincerest regrets at John's passing. He was a great friend and a great man. The world will be a drearier place without his presence. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I worked with John for many years at GTE, beginning in 1971. John was a pleasure to be around and he always provided excellent contributions to any discussion or problem.
It's hard to believe that so much time has passed, it seems such a short time ago. May God bless his family and give them strength during this time.
With my deepest sympathies,
Lee Surrett

I am saddened by the passing of "Big John". I started work at GTE in 1971, working for John in the engineering department, St Petersburg. John was always gung ho, very positive and was an inspiration to me for continuation of my GTE career. I often think of John, and will never forger him. Peace to John and his family.

It is with a heavy heart we learn of John's death. John has been a dear friend of the Woman's Club of Winter Haven. John Risher has been our speaker, our friend and one of our greatest supporters. John was a proud Kiwanian in Winter Haven; he was a strong advocate for Every Child Should Swim, John loved the Noles and he was the faithful husband of one of our dearest members (Margaret Risher). It was a pleasure and a privilege to know John Freeman Risher and call him friend. God Bless his precious family. Most sincerely, Jane McGinnis, President, the Woman's Club of Winter Haven

It was an honor to work with John over the years in the Kiwanis swimming program for young children. His legacy will live on through the children he helped learn to swim.
