Fond memories of SMU days. We send the Roach family our sincere condolenhces. Don and Nancy Reily, Lufkin, Texas

I remember "Coach Roach" from when he coached my brother's team at Bradfield in the 60s and early 70s. We self-elected ourselves as cheerleaders for the team and he always told us he appreciated our support. I saw him frequently all through high school. Sincere condolences on John's passing. His was a life well lived! And he was a Great SMU Mustang!

May God Bless John and the Family.

Loved that man who shared an alley and much more as I grew up. Always kind, gracious with a smile on his face. Always available for a visit and welcomed me and my brother into his home whenever we ambled over to play with Doug and Kaki. Left this world a better, friendlier place and I know he is chatting away with Elaine and Bob upstairs. Lisa Irby Edick

I have known John since the fourth grade at University Park Elem. He was a friend for all those years through HP and SMU. I always enjoyed visiting with Patsy and John at various events. Kaki was a student of mine, and I enjoyed having her in my class and seeing her through the years.
Please accept my condolences.

My deepest sympathy to your family. He lived his life as a true testament to God. I’m sure he heard, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” When he entered into God’s presence.
