While his dad worked around the family cabin, John and I were either swimming or trying to catch bullfrogs on topwater lures in the shallows behind the dam. It was a time when we had no worries, no pressures, and no responsibility for others. I miss those times....

John was my best friend for the 4 years of high school and then we went our separate ways, reconnecting at least once a year at Christmas. He and I played many games of pingpong in the basement of the Catholic Church. He had a wicked serve! He will be missed.
