I graduated from ELHS in 1970. On behalf of all ELHS students, I thank Mr. Roan for his service to our school. Although I did not have him for a teacher, I did see him frequently, and know that he had an outstanding reputation.

He was a very good teacher and mentor. I lived with him and his family at Homestead House for 2 years. Interesting times.

Sorry to hear of John's passing. I was a student teacher under him at ELHS and later worked with him at ELHS.
I would see him from time to time after his retirement. Always a good conversation and memories.

I extend my condolences to the families of Mr. Roan during this difficult time.
I lived in Homestead Dorm for three years. Mr. Roan would invite the dorm residents, perhaps less than 18 boys, into his apartment for the annual Christmas party. He and Anita extended as much as possible, a home away from home atmosphere.
