John Robert “Jack” Hilt, age 79 of Smyrna TN, died Saturday March 25, 2017. He was a native of Pewaukee, WI and was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Adelaide Hilt; a brother, Nicholas Hilt; and a sister in law, Jan Hilt.
Mr. Hilt and his family moved many times with his industrial tool sales career to Ohio, Illinois, North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Michigan and Arkansas. He was member of St. Luke Catholic Church and a lifelong Green Bay Packers Fan.
Mr. Hilt is survived by his wife of 59 years, Carol Linck Hilt; daughters, Mary E. Hilt of Ohio, Kim A. Hill and husband Bryan of Springfield, TN; grandchildren, Alexis, and Ziven Havens of Ohio; brother, Richard A Hilt of Virginia; sister, Adelaide Fortmann and husband Raymond of Wisconsin; sisters-in-law, Jane Hilt of Wisconsin, Mary Ann Bergen and husband Paul of Arkansas, Janis Nimmer and husband Kenneth of Wisconsin, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hilt loved his four poodles, Fritzie, Puff, Mitzie, and Rascal, his lazy boy mate.
Funeral Mass will be 11AM Thursday at St. Luke Catholic Church in Smyrna. Visitation will be one hour before the service. Burial will be at a later date in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Milwaukee, WI.
The family would like to thank the staff of Avalon Hospice and Diversacare of Smyrna for their their loving care. Memorials may be made to St. Luke Catholic Church in memory of Mr. Hilt.
