When I was 18, away from home in college, I got sick on a weekend when the infirmary was closed. I looked in the phone book and saw Dr John Rorro had walk-in appointments. I went to see him and, not only did he address what ailed me but, he asked me: "How are you doing otherwise? You´re a student. Are you sleeping and eating well?" He took care of the whole patient, not just the illness. I will never forget his compassion. (And it´s been almost 50 years.)

He took care of the whole patient, not just my illness. I shall never forget his kindness. (It´s been almost 50 years!)

We lived around the corner on Hudson Street. Dr Rorro was a good man who always went out of his way to help.. I remember him coming and knocking on our door when my father's sugar levels came back too high.. God Bless Him
