Not sure what to say?

Dear Pat and family,

We are saddened to hear of your loss. We have special memories of visiting with you and John at your home on Selkirk Lake as well as flying up to your home on Beaver Island. Joe fondly recalls many enjoyable discussions with John as well. He's one of a kind and has surely earned his "wings". Keeping you all close in our hearts, Joe and Joan

Dear Mrs Rowley and family, With sadness we learn that a good man is called to his heavenly home. My last encounter with you was on Beaver Island. You sent us to your home to meet John and visit till you got out of work. Your rooftop patio was a heavenly place. You are much loved, respected and remembered by a previous student from Dorr Mi and Wayland High School.Mary Fifelski Rettig

So sorry to hear of Red's death. He was a wonderful person who I was blessed to know. I recall some lovely dinners at their home on Beaver Island with invigorating discussions. Red served the country, his family, friends and Beaver Island. He was a person of dignity and decency. I am a better person because I knew Red.

To Pat and the family know that Red now enjoys the fullness of life and his just reward for all the good he did. His life was a good measure, pressed down, shaken...

Pat & Family, My sincere sympathetic thoughts are with you at this time. Knowing that there is life hereafter in 'Halleujah Square' gives us peace in knowing that the best is yet to come. God be with all of you at this time......

The first time I met Red, he was working on my Mom's roof on Beaver Island. I told him I was recently retired form the Navy and he told me he was a former Marine. I told him there's no such thing as a former Marine; I told him once a Marine, always a Marine. After that, whenever I came to the Island he would find me and we'd have a few drinks and tell each other Sea Stories. We considered each other as best of friends. I will miss my friend very much! Rest In Peace Marine!!! Semper Fi
