Not sure what to say?

Just a note to say I pray for Fr. George's classmates, John was one of his classmates. For Fr. John's relatives, if you don't know the entire class of 1947 from the St. Paul class are now in heaven with Fr. John. Fr. Larry Keller was the last to die. I do not know if there are still survivors in the members of the outstate Priests! God bless and be with all, and their families. Lynne Johnston

Msgr. John Sankovitz was my first real exposure to substantive scholarship during those halcyon days at Nazareth Hall. We also saw his more approachable side as he traded hits with the students on the hockey rink as well as in other athletic endeavours. Msgr. John was indeed "all things to all men".

Sympathy and prayers to you, Mary Ellen and Lee, along with the fondest memories of your brother, Msgr. John, from Cathedral Parish, Nazareth Hall and UST. He was a very influential priest in our family life. May he be greatly rewarded by our Lord in heaven.

You are in our prayers. Fr. Sankovitz - a great man and passionate teacher. I learned so much in his Church of the Apostles and Martyrs class at UST. God has welcomed his servant home.

I fondly recall the ease with which Msgr. Sankovitz shared his faith and full volume of knowledge with parishioners while he served at St. Dominic's in Northfield. We were most fortunate to have him grace our parish. May he rest peacefully with our Lord.

Thanks Msgr. John Sankovitz for your many gifts you gave especially your smile and laughter!! Thanks for concelebrating our marriage 24 years ago and for being a wonderful parish priest when I was a child! You and your family are in our prayers.

To Msgr. John's family, my deepest sympaty. John and I were ordained together on May 31, 1947. We had great class reunions for many years until we grew too old! I have many fond memories of John. My prayers for all.
Fr. George Kovalik, class of '47

I am deeply saddened to learn of the death of Msgr. Sankovitz, and extend my sincere sympathy to his family and to everyone who knew and loved him. I treasure his friendship from my years on the St. Thomas faculty.
