John J. Sanzari

John J. Sanzari, 89, of North Bergen NJ passed away on Tuesday May 29, 2012. Born in New York City he lived briefly in Ceretto DiSannita, Italy before his family settled in West New York and later North Bergen. He enlisted in the US Navy in April of 1941 and returned to graduate with his class from Memorial High School in June 1941. He served valiantly in the south pacific during WW II including the Guadalcanal and the Philippines. After the war he married his wife Maria (nee Dellostritto)and were married for 43 years until her passing in 1993. They had six children which they raised in North Bergen. He also belonged to the North Bergen American Legion, West New York Knights of Columbus and was an usher and longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Libera Church in West New York. He retired as a communications craftsman for AT & T in New York. Devoted father of Arthur and his late wife Diane, Gerald and his wife Nelia, Neil and his wife Christine, Susan Molkenbur and her husband William, Sylvester and the late John T. Sanzari. Dear brother of Concetta Tabbacchino , Jean Raymond and the late Geralomo Sanzari. Also survived by 8 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
