Mr. Scafaria, known to us as 'Signor', was my Italian teacher all 4 years of my high school career from 1992-1996. He is the reason I became an Italian major. He is the reason I spent an amazing semester in Italy in college. He is the reason I traveled across Europe. Mr. Scafaria was my Italian teacher from 1988-89. He was kind, fun, caring and engaging with all of his students. I saw him again in 2002 at an Italian restaurant (of course). He still had that same bright and kind smile and remembered me immediately. He truly was a teacher who cared for his students and wanted to teach and share his love of the Italian culture. He always went above and beyond for his students. He will truly be missed.

I´ll forever have fond memories of Mr Scafaria. He and my mother taught together for many years. He was a gentleman and an educator, and those of us who knew him were very fortunate.
