John Schattner

Mr. Schattner was a man with a BIG heart and would help you out no matter what.He will be greatly missed

I first met Schatts when I went to Guion Creek Middle School. I remember when he first asked me to join the wrestling team at first I was scared to join but Schatts finally talked me into it and I actually enjoyed it so much that I continued to wrestle until my final year at Pike High School. Schatts was a mentor as well as good friend. He will be truely missed.

The entire Wrestling Fraternity will miss you. Have many great memories of John on the mat but most important as a friend.

John invested in the lives of his wrestlers and made a life changing difference in the lives of many.

I have fond memories of John from first getting to know him, when he was the wrestling coach at St. Roch's. I then got to know him fondly from a different perspective. John refereed some of my matches starting in grade school, AAU, High School, Peace Games and I even found him on the Mat refereeing while I was in college.
Just a couple of years ago, I was surprised to find him in his officiating uniform; this time I was in the coaching chair. My son; along with the son of Roncalli's...

I knew him and his brothers. They are all together now and at peace.
