John was in M-! company at West Point. Although I was in L-1 company next door, he and I had many occasions to be together for various functions. He went Air Force and I went Army, so our paths never crossed again following graduation in 1953. Regardless, I have many pleasant memories of John Schuessler during our four years together as cadets. I was deeply saddened to learn of John's passing. He and I were close friends for many years, starting at Marion Institute in 1948. Next we were together at West Point, and then off and on in the Air Force for a number of years. While we were still in school my parents were stationed in Germany and John's parents literally took me in. I will never forget the wonderful house parties they threw for us at their home on the Gulf Coast during our summer leaves from the Point. I will really miss...
