Not sure what to say?

I resided across the street at 125 W. Franklin and I knew each member of John's family from 1950-1970. John was three years older than I but I attended St. Mary's basketball games from 1960-62 His father, Harry took me to the games as I was a 7th grader. I played catch with John for several years and he once told me that if he ever played pro ball in Detroit I would be there as his guest. I didn't realize how close that was to the truth as he did receive an offer from the Tigers but he was 17...

I was so sorry to learn of John's passing as John Scott was my "first love". We met the summer of 1962 . As I lived at the end of Fourth Street, my Dad and I would walk down to Ella Sharp Park and watch him play baseball for the Rose City Post. I think we even saw him pitch a no hitter! It was a magical summer romance. He gave me a heart necklace and a poem for my 16th Birthday and we exchanged letters every day when my family went away on vacation (which I kept for years in case he became a...

So sorry to hear of John's passing. i would see him at the Y which had been built over his childhood home and he would recollect the old neighborhood and the great times we had playing ball at his house. He was truly a gifted athlete and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

May God rest his soul, and may perpetual light shine upon him. God bless you Mr. Scott.
God bless the Scott family.

I am so sorry that John has passed away. We went to school together from early grade school. We will be praying for him and for all of his family. Wish all of us could have gotten together with John for lunch one last time.

So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a very kind man and wonderful father and grandfather. I'll pray for peace in all your hearts. Losing such a wonderful soul is never easy.

John was my World History teacher in my freshman year at St. Mary's High School (the last year of SMHS). He was enthusiastic, encouraging, energetic and inspiring. I loved going to his class and still remember certain lessons and incidents at my 65 yrs. age. There's no blessing quite like a great teacher. I remain grateful for him.
