Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to learn about John's passing. As a newly promoted supervisor with UPS in the early 80's, I had an occasion to travel from my home location in Tidewater to the Roanoke area to work with their management team, many of whom I was meeting for the very first time. John sought me out and warmly welcomed me and later reminded me that we were distantly related through family in Pennsylvania. We shared many good memories and laughter during those times when our paths would cross at...

To all Uncle Johnny's Family,
We are sorry for your loss. He was a great and generous man. He was always cracking jokes and happy. He was one of the nicest people we ever knew. We loved going to the lake every summer to see him and playing dump the yankee. He will forever be in our hearts and greatly missed.

To John's Family
Our deepest sympathy on your loss, its been many years back but he was a good neighbor to us at Poplar Cove.
The Reed Family

From my childhood days, I grew up and was good friends with Amy and Tom. I also knew their dad Mr.John Sell.
When I was a kid carrying Mr Sells newspaper, I remember him always being a nice and generous man. He also took time to talk to me when I visited both Amy and Tom. Though, its been a long time since I have seen Amy and Tom, I still have fond memories of them and the Sell family.
My thoughts and prayers go out to you with my sincere condolences to your family.

To the Families of John Sell,
Your dad hired me in the early 70's right out of high school, I was one of the first women to be hired at United Parcel Service in the Covington Hub. He and I remained friends through the years. When I moved to Moneta, he made sure that my kids had a place to come fish, and we spent many nights catfishing off his dock. I will miss my old friend and look forward to seeing him again, when I cross over. Many blessings and prayers to your family for having a...

Amy Lou & Thomas,

We came to know Uncle John through our friend Shanna. Uncle John as we called him as well allowed us to come to the lake house every summer. He always made us feel as family. Our little girl loved him as though he really was her uncle. He loved taking her out on the boat. He will be sorely missed.

Love,
Dwayne, Molly & Haley Shifflett

My sympathy and prayers go out to all the family. He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
