Not sure what to say?

I didn't know John very well but I did know that he was a wonderful, unselfish person that was truly loved by his family, friends and acquaintances. He will surely be missed. I will pray for his family and that he has found peace and "harmony" in heaven with all those other wonderful musicians.

I am a student attending Trenton Catholic Academy who always looked forward to seeing Mr. Shaffer's effortlessly beautiful smile each day! He was more than a staff member to me, he was a best friend, mentor, father figure, and a blessing from God. Mr. Shaffer always assured that I had a spot at the top where everyone may become aware of my true potential and for that I couldn't thank him enough. He has changed many lives by making people happy and giving people chances. Mr. Shaffer gave me a...

I'm a student at TCA. Mr. Shaffer was an amazing person who was always there for all of us. He always made someone's day by his jokes or by just saying hey. He knew how to turn one's frown upside down. He is truly someone who never thought of the worst, he always looked at the positive outcome. I am truly blessed that I met him because he taught me so much. I will never forget his jokes, his amazing stories, or his care and love for all of us. I'm thankful that we even had our duet in "how to...

27 October 2014

I had the pleasure of meeting John Shaffer at Trenton Catholic Academy. I was so sorry to learn of his passing at such an early age.

I would like to add my condolences to his family and pray for a spiritual brother who, having been devoted to God in life, may now find a place with Him in heaven.

Eternal rest grant to John, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon him.
Amen

I am a student at TCA and Mr.Shaffer was the one person who I knew always had my back, he always guided me in the right direction and always made me laugh. I will miss him every single day. Please watch over us.

I am a student of TCA, and Mr. Shaffer has made a huge impact on not only my life, but my parents lives as well. My father was diagnosed with the same cancer as Mr. Shaffer (prostate cancer) in October of last year (2013), and Mr. Shaffer helped both my parents throughout everything. He went out of his way to give my mother his cell phone number, house phone number, email address, and school extension number. He asked me every week the progress of my father and when I told him last spring...

I had the great pleasure of working with John for over two years back in the late 90's at MWW. He was always a joy to be around. Always a smile on his face and a joke or two to brighten the day. I felt that we were friends instantly. I'm sure that so many in John's life felt the same. He was one of the friendliest people that I knew. We kept in touch over the years through emails, phone calls or Christmas cards. He was always so proud of his wonderful family and he and I would trade...

I worked with John at MWW and he was just an all around great guy. Always had a positive attitude and always teaching - Coach is the perfect characterization. John was all about family and there wasn't a day that went by where he wasn't talking about Justin and Hannah. He had such a great impact on so many lives, including my own.

May the love of your friends and family surrounds your hearts as you journey down this new road. Our hope and prayers for all of you is that each day your hearts will feel lighter and lighter from the loss you are feeling.
