John A. "Jack" Shafranski

Singing Do-wop with the great John Shafranski on stage will be one of the highlights of my career at John P. Stevens High School. You are definitely missed by me and many others. Old school is still the best. Herb Smith

I was John's dental hygienist for many years. Although I think we spent more time talking than actually cleaning. The news of his passing is heart breaking. My most sincere condolences to Jean. Jill. I have such fond memories of Mr. Shafranski. He was a great coach who produced some amazing teams while I was at J.P. Stevens (1974-1976).

I have many fond memories spending Sundays at the club with Jack, playing ball, discussing philosophy of life, solving all the world´s problems, and wondering why the people in charge couldn´t figure it out. I miss his wry smile and his warm heart. My thoughts are with all of you. xo

Such a sudden loss of a much-admired man. I could count on John applying common sense and forthrightness when advocating for science and student learning. Vaya con dios, Shaf.

John was always so friendly to me. We retired together in 2005 with Nina Perzi and Fred Riccio. Last saw John at Shiva for Jon Potashnik. Rest in peace.

The JP Stevens Doo Wop Boys have list a great man. Mr. Shafranski will be truly missed.
